The UNC Greensboro College of Visual and Performing Arts has the largest and most comprehensive set of arts programs in the state of North Carolina. Our students study in an intensive environment, much like a conservatory, but they have the benefit of access to UNCG's other colleges and programs. As a student here, you'll have opportunities for collaboration and academic inspiration that give depth to your work that you won't get in an arts conservatory program.

Students at UNCG can study in our schools of art, dance, music, and theater. We also offer a unique degree in arts administration, which allows students to pursue arts coursework alongside courses in business and entrepreneurship that pave the way for a life in the arts. Visual arts students can specialize in ceramics, sculpture, and mediums such as metal or wood, printmaking, drawing, digital media and design, photography, and painting. Art history and art education students also benefit from our location, we're adjacent to UNCG's Witherspoon Art Museum, one of the foremost collections of modern and contemporary art in the southeast. Our dance students have access to the most comprehensive list of dance degree programs in North Carolina. The school offers technique classes focused in contemporary ballet, jazz, and African dance. Along with countless opportunities to perform with guest artists and in faculty pure work.

The School of Music has long been recognized as one of the top music institutions in the United States. Offering degrees in music education in music performance and composition. Students have frequent performance opportunities through a wide variety of ensembles, including our University Symphony Orchestra, University Chorale, jazz ensembles, and more.

Students in the school of theater can pursue a focus in acting, musical theater, technical theater, and theater education. The Bachelor of Arts in Drama is our core undergraduate theater program. Designed is a challenging and comprehensive exploration of critical skills needed to succeed in the field of theater. We also offer graduate degree programs specializing in theater for youth. We stage eight to 10 student productions each year, plus performances as part of our children's theatre companies. Each spring, our graduating seniors hold a casting showcase for film, Broadway, and television agents in Manhattan. No matter your art form, UNCG will help you harness your passion and create a vibrant career in the arts.
